A festive spirit pervaded at Saupin’s School, Panchkula as students participated in various competitions and activities to celebrate an ECO FRIENDLY DIWALI on 5th November. Class 1, 2 and 3 decorated candles beautifully and Class 4 and 5 made paper lanterns in Intra House Competitions. The decorated candles were later donated to an orphanage. Students of Classes 6 to 9 participated in Inter House ‘Giant Card Making’ Competition and ‘Best out of waste Rangoli’ competition. Aspen House stood victorious in Giant Card Making. Sycamore House was adjudged the winner in Rangoli Competition. A giant rangoli was also prepared in the school premises to add on to the celebration. Children also made Eco - friendly diyas with peels of lemons and oranges. These were later donated to an Old Age Home. The entire school was decorated colourfully and tastefully by the students with buntings, paper flowers and other decorative material. The students of Eco club and Science club took out a rally and went in the vicinity sloganeering not to burst crackers as it’s harmful for the environment. They also vowed to play an Eco friendly and a safe Diwali by saying no to crackers and by saving animals. The tiny tots of the school also indulged in painting and decorating diyas. The teachers explained the blooming buds the origin of Diwali and how it is celebrated all over the country. The Principal, Dr. Jayeta Auddy wished the students and Staff members ‘A Happy Diwali’.
